Right Form of Verb
বাক্যের গঠন ও ইঙ্গিত (clue) দেখে verb-এর সঠিক রূপ বসানোই Right Form of Verb। কয়েকটি নির্দিষ্ট সূত্র জানলেই এই অংশে পূর্ণ নম্বর পাওয়া যায়।
সূত্র ধরে সঠিক রূপ
সহজ করে বুঝি
এই অংশটা আসলে সূত্রের খেলা — বাক্যে একটা ‘সংকেত শব্দ’ থাকে, আর সেই শব্দই বলে দেয় verb-এর রূপ কী হবে।
যেমন বাক্যে ‘It is high time’ দেখলেই বুঝবে পরে past tense বসবে (It is high time we changed our ways)। ‘as if’ দেখলেই past, আর be verb হলে ‘were’।
তাই মুখস্থ করার দরকার নেই — সংকেতগুলো চিনে রাখো, উত্তর নিজে থেকেই বেরিয়ে আসবে।
Conditional ও কল্পনার সূত্র

কল্পনা/অবাস্তব অর্থে সব person-এ ‘were’ বসে — If I were you (was ✗)।
গঠনভিত্তিক সূত্র

Hardly / Scarcely / No sooner গঠন
- No sooner had he arrived than the train left.
- Hardly had he reached when the bell rang.
- Scarcely had she spoken when he interrupted.
- মনে রাখো জোড়া: No sooner … than; Hardly/Scarcely … when/before.
নিজে চেষ্টা করো
‘It is high time we ___ our attitude.’ — change না changed?
পরীক্ষার ফাঁদ
- ‘If I were you’ — কল্পনায় সব person-এ were বসে, was নয়।
- lest-এর পরে should + V1; আর lest-এর সঙ্গে not বসে না (দ্বৈত নেতিবাচক হবে)।
- No sooner-এর জোড়া ‘than’, কিন্তু Hardly/Scarcely-র জোড়া ‘when/before’।
মনে রাখার কৌশল
- সংকেত শব্দ খুঁজে বের করো — সেটাই verb-এর রূপ ঠিক করে দেবে।
- ‘to’ preposition না infinitive? — পরে noun/gerund চাইলে preposition, কাজ চাইলে infinitive।
