Tense-এর বিশেষ নিয়ম
সহজ করে বুঝি
কিছু জায়গায় Tense-এর সাধারণ নিয়ম খাটে না — এগুলোই পরীক্ষার প্রশ্ন হয়।
সবচেয়ে বড়টা চিরন্তন সত্য। ‘The teacher said that the earth moves round the sun’ — said অতীত হলেও moves বর্তমানেই থাকবে, কারণ সত্যটা চিরকালের।
আরেকটা since/for-এর খেলা: since-এর পরে নির্দিষ্ট সময়বিন্দু (since 2010, since morning), আর for-এর পরে সময়ের ব্যাপ্তি (for two years, for a long time)।
Sequence of Tense (মূল নিয়ম)

| ব্যতিক্রম: চিরন্তন সত্য → সবসময় present | He said that the earth is round. |
| ব্যতিক্রম: ঐতিহাসিক সত্য → past-ই থাকে | We learnt that Babar came in 1526. |
| Principal present/future → যেকোনো tense | He says that he is/was/will be busy. |
since ও for

| for | সময়ের ব্যাপ্তি/দৈর্ঘ্য | for two hours, for ten years, for a long time |
Since/for থাকলে সাধারণত Perfect Continuous tense হয়: He has been reading since morning.
কিছু জরুরি সূত্র
- চিরন্তন সত্য সবসময় Present Indefinite: The sun rises in the east.
- নির্দিষ্ট ভবিষ্যৎ সময়সূচি → Present Indefinite: The train leaves at 6 pm.
- when/after/before/until/as soon as-এর পরে future-এ present বসে: I shall go when he comes. (will come ✗)
- Adverb of past time (yesterday, ago, last week) থাকলে Past Indefinite — Present Perfect নয়।
